This is my mission: to be responsible for welcoming at the Provincial House, the House of All. I have found that fulfilling this mission requires a generous heart, patience, a willingness to listen, simplicity, humility, and humanity.

This service has allowed me to grow in a process of openness, of sharing, of getting to know the needs of each of you, Sisters, so that I can take them into account; of understanding, of communicating, of supporting, of expressing through art the gifts that God has given me… of living together and sharing with other people who occasionally stay here at home and need some care. It also involves listening to your needs and the challenges you face—whether related to health, work, studies, and so on—as well as your joys, plans, and hopes.

Knowing how others perceive us from the outside is a source of satisfaction and a call to grow in consistency and to bear witness through our consecration, so that others may experience God in their lives.

Some of the comments I have heard include: “I felt at home,” “the peace that permeates this place helped me these past few days to take a break from my routine,” “from the noise,” “for my reflection,” “I’m leaving very happy,” “I’ll be back,” “I already miss you all,” and so on.

My desire is to experience that it is Christ whom I serve. It is a source of satisfaction to live this way, but I do not always succeed, and as the Word says in the Gospel of Matthew 26:41, “Stay awake and pray so that you may not fall into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

I share this responsibility directly with Sr. Carmela López López. I thank God for her sisterly love and unconditional support, as well as for the collaboration of the sisters of our Community and the sisters of the María de Guadalupe Community. Each of them shares this mission, contributing according to the stage of life they are in through service, listening, and prayer.
