MARIE POUSSEPIN'S FEAST
The Congregation of The Dominican Sisters of the Charity of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin USA, felt blessed to happily celebrate the anniversary of their foundress, Marie Poussepin, at their cheerful and welcoming home in Brownsville, Texas, under a beautiful South Texas full moon with Father Flavio Bravo and friends.
Their home was beautifully decorated for a Mass joyfully celebrated by Father Flavio Bravo, from San Felipe de Jesus Catholic Church in Brownsville, Texas. Where the Dominican Sisters of the Charity of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin assist with the comfort, needs, and spiritual education of migrant adults and youth. A few dear friends arrived and joined in this festive celebration, with Sister Glenda Ortiz, Sister Gloria Santoyo, and Sister Claudia Lorena Redondo. There was singing as Sister Claudia Lorena played guitar. Father Bravo had each sister share their personal affection for their foundress, Maria Poussepin. After Mass, a delicious meal was shared as all discussed current events and shared amusing stories. As laity, we felt blessed to be invited and allowed to share in this unique celebration. We as laity where learning how our Dear Dominican Sisters live and celebrate their unique way of life, teaching us about their foundress, Marie Poussepin.
