The Seed of the Gospel
“Be very careful and vigilant with the young people you educate”, these words of Marie Poussepin resonate in our hearts and constantly encourage us to carry out our missionary service aware of the responsibility we have before God, the Church, the Congregation and society.
The girls and young women from the different villages of Guaimaca, together with their families, seek in the Marie Poussepin Center (CMP), an opportunity for integral formation. The families are of limited resources, but with a special richness: They have the firm conviction that, from a solid formation, the strengthening of values and growth in faith; they are giving their daughters “The best inheritance” as they themselves express it.
It is for this reason that the community of sisters, currently: Maria Cevallos, Sister Sindi Bardales and Sister Slendy Manrique; the team of tutors and the different volunteers, give every day the gifts that God has given them with love, constancy and will; to build the Kingdom of God, to sow the seed of the Gospel from this educational mission, which transcends the limits of a classroom, that reaches not only personal or family life, but that permeates and helps to transform each of the communities where they come from.
The different realities constitute diverse challenges in this mission, and that is why we are required to constantly renew ourselves through prayer, formation, real and fraternal living in community, study... because our life must be a preaching for them.
In their process of integral formation, they receive academic, Christian and values formation, sewing, handicrafts, computer, dance and sports workshops, we are strengthening their English, and they also have the opportunity to do their agricultural practices every week at the Nazareth Farm in Calona.
We seek to accompany them, to listen to them, to guide them, to offer them tools to become women capable of assuming their lives with courage, with a spirit of self-improvement and with freedom. This is our share of justice with society.
The presence of the Provident God, of each one of the sisters, volunteers, tutors, families that have passed through the CMP, constitutes an indelible mark and a contribution so that this seed of the Gospel germinates and bears fruit in this beautiful Honduran land.
Thanks to all those who with their prayers and solidarity support our mission.
